Can't access FOPE admin portal

Subject line is pretty self explanatory. When I try to access FOPE from within O365 admin portal or when I enter the URL https://sts.messaging.microsoft.com/fedlogin.aspx in browser address bar, I get an error message like that URL don't exists.

I tried from IE 9 and from Firefox.

Thanks on your help.

Migrated Autocomplete list gets overwritten every time but works for administrator

$

We came from another hosted exchange system and switched to Office 365.  They were using exchange 2007 server.  Each user has outlook 2010 running on windows xp pro.

After setting up a new email profile for the office 365 on the users computer and transferring the data from the old system via exporting and import the pst files I followed this process, which I thought would import the autocomplete list into the office 365 system

1. I close out of outlook,

2. I renamed the newly created stream_autocomplete file and then copy the users stream_autocomplete file from the previous hosted exchange service to the office 365 filename,

3. when I then go back into outlook 2010, it does not take the autocomplete list from the file that I have renamed, it erases that file and creates a blank stream_autocomplete file again over and over.

This has happend for 90% of the users, however the administrator user, the account I used to setup office 365, auto complete list transferred successfully and so did one other standard user.

I have tried to set the other users as administrator to see if it would then take, however I noticed there are now 5 or 6 different types of administrators and the domain administrator option didn't work.  Then of course I will need to switch them back to a standard user once the process is complete.  This all seems to be too cumbersome, so hopefully there is an solution to this issue.

Any insights you have would be much appreciated.  Thanks

Moving of Exchange 2010 Hybrid Server to Windows Azure

We have a situation where we want to move our On-premises Exchange 2010 Hybrid server to Windows Azure .My question Is

1) Does Microsoft support this scenario or is their any document available related to that

2) Do I need to create a SSL Certificate request from Windows azure server that I am using in my  Hybrid server

3) what happen with my existing Hybrid configuration  do I need to delete my existing Hybrid configuration and run the new hybrid config wizard on Windows azure Exchange Server or I need to run only update-hybrid config command

Exchange hybrid set up and mail routing + autodiscover

$
0
0

Set up:

1 x hosted exchange account with Sherweb (uses autodiscover.mydomain.com > forwarded)

2 x hosted exchange accounts with 1&1

Multiple simple webmail accounts with 1&1

Multiple email address forwards with 1&1

Domain hosted with 1&1

> Everything works fine.   :-)

Plan:

Add a simple O365 (basic Exchange hosting) account to do a POC of migrating the Sherweb and 1&1 Exchange accounts to O365

Method:

Add a mail-forward from an existing email address, forwarding to the O365 account - done

Verify domain (hosted by 1&1) in O365 - done (verification MX entries have since been removed to keep things clean)

What works:

Mail is received in the O365 account

Mail can be sent from O365 as "me@mydomain.com" to the world

Mail can be sent from O365 to me > from: "me@mydomain.com" to "me@mydomain.com"

What doesn't work:

  1. Mail can *not* be sent out from O365 to "anyone_else@mydomain.com", eg. all other users on mydomain.com (who are not hosted in O365) are not reachable . all other users on mydomain.com (who are not hosted in O365) are not reachable
  2. Autodiscover: if Sherweb uses the autodiscover.mydomain.com subdomain, does this mean that I cannot configure the O365 autodiscover service? Is it possible for the two to co-exist?

I have read a number of articles, and I cannot work out a way to enable the new account to work correctly, whilst maintaining the status quo of the current set up.

The intention would be to centralise the hosted Exchange with O365, andmaintain all the webmail accounts as well as any other email address forwards configured with the domain provider.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

PST Capture Tool does not populate my Office 365 mailboxes

Hi all,

-I have installed PST capture on a win 7 64 bit machine with 64 bit office 2010 sp1.

-I can successfully sign in  to the online connection.

-I have made sure that the account I am using to sign in is assigned organization management role.

-dot net 3.5 sp1 is is installed. and outlook is configured with the office 365 admin's account open in the  background.

The Problem is that I am still not able to see the Office 365 mailboxes when I try and select "set mailbox" On reading various other posts on the internet lot of them mention to leave it for a while and the mailboxes will populate. Its now around 3 to 4 hours but I cannot see any mailboxes.

Kind Regards

I've searched both here and google etc and found a few mentions of the problem but all seem to relate to Flood Mitigation in Forefront TMG which, unless it's installed automatically by Exchange 2010 SP2, we don't use!!

Does anyone have any idea what else either on my Exchange 2003 server, the Exchange 2010 SP2 server or even Exchange Online itself which may be preventing successful migrations of mailboxes with more than 2GB of data?

Exchange2003MBtoMEU.vbs not working as expected

Trying to run Exchange2003MBtoMEU.vbs as described in this article http://community.office365.com/en-us/wikis/exchange/834.aspx

Script keeps returning the following message. Anyone have this problem and figure out how to get past it?

PS C:\365> cscript Exchange2003MBtoMEU.vbs -c .\Cloud.csv dc1.domain.local
This script runs in two modes, CSV Mode and Manual Mode.
CSV Mode allows you to specify a CSV file from which to pull user names.
Manual mode allows you to run the script against a single user.
Both modes require you to specify the name of a DC to use in the local domain.
To run the script in CSV Mode, use the following syntax:
  cscript Exchange2003MBtoMEU.vbs -c x:\csv\csvfilename.csv dc.domain.com

Hybrid Wizard changing the FQDN

Hello,

I'm complete with my Hybrid mode wizard and it is changing my FQDN. Originally I setup my exchange 2010 server with the name mail.domain.com now I've changed everything to hybrid.domain.com. When I run the Hybrid wizard it creates 2 connectors Inbound and Outbound Office 365 both a send and receive connector. I look in forefront and it has created 2 hybrid TLS connectors with mail.domain.com which I cannot edit.

Where in exchange 2010 can I alter this mail.domain.com to hybrid.domain.com so that the wizard will set the right FQDN?

Moving one of my e-mails to Microsoft exchange

I am trying to move one of my e-mails to microsoft exchange but keep the rest of them on my normal host. I have verified my domain name.

I currently have bearcalvary@adomainname.com on my webhost, which I get my domain name through. I want to move bearcalvary@adomainname.com to exchange online for various reasons. My e-mail is currently using open exchange, which isn't doing what wanted it to do. How do I go about moving only bearcalvary@adomainname.com to exchange online, I don't want to move any other e-mail addresses as I will just use IMAP and import their e-mails into my exchange online account.

Also any way to import e-mails from open-exchange?

Migrare Emails to Office 365 & Exchange On-Premise for Internal use only

Hi Guys,

I have one client that has 3 Branches.

The Three Branches is currently using a Hosted Pop3 Emails and one of these Branches have Exchange 2010 Deployed for Internal Communication As this Branch is always facing Internet Disconnection issues.

Also this third Branch is having it's own DC.

Now the Customer wants to Migrate to Office 365 (E1 Maybe). and he wants the Third Branch to use Office 365 for External Communication and his current Exchange 2010 for Intenral Communication. and at the Same time he wants only one mail Account.

So i figured out to let everyone in this branch to connect ot The Exchange Account and in the server side somehow I'll Integrate Exchange Online with the Exchange On-Premise.

But actually i don't know how this will work.

Any one have any ideas?? Please share it.

Exchange Cutover Migration - Incremental Sync larger than expected

$

Hello Community

I'm currently involved in an Exchange Cutover Migration.  The Initial synchronization has completed successfully.

However, the Incremental synchronizations appear to be moving the whole mailbox every 24 hours.

I check the Per-User Details in the Email Migration section of the Exchange Control Panel.  Most Users' mailboxes are reporting at least triple the number of items synced compared with pre migration item counts.  The worst example is one user whose pre-migration mailbox size was 5.3GB, is reported as now 18.84GB.

Yet, when I check the actual mailbox size using the "backstage view" in the Outlook client, the mailbox is closer to 5.3GB.

Questions

  1. During an incremental sync, what does the "Bytes Transferred" in the "per user details" reflect?  Mailbox size? Total bytes transferred during the migration job (initial sync + each accumulated incremental sync)?
  2. Why does an incremental sync take so long? The initial sync has been successful and the mail volumes are not very high over a 24 hour incremental period.
  3. Does an incremental sync process every item again each 24 hour period, recording an already synced item in its bytes transferred count, even though it isn't copying an "already synced item?"

Due to the size, start time and duration of the incremental sync, normal business activity and internet access are heavily impacted.

Please help me resolve this issue.

O365 - Hybrid Deployment issue (SSL certificate could not be checked for revocation)

Hello All,

Issue: SSL certificate could not be checked for revocation, while performing Hybrid configuration.

One of my customers is deploying Office 365 and facing issue with Hybrid configuration.

Customer firewall doesn't support URL exception, therefore we have allowed all the IP address list part of the article: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/hh373144.aspx

But though now Hybrid server can connect to PS.outlook.com, we are facing issue with Certificate authority server validation.

Error:

Updating hybrid configuration failed with error 'System.Management.Automation.Remoting.PSRemotingTransportException: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: The server certificate on the destination computer (ps.outlook.com:443) has the following errors:

The SSL certificate could not be checked for revocation. The server used to check for revocation might be unreachable.

Based on discussion with Microsoft O365 support team, we allowed the IP address of Certificate Root Authority. However the IP addresses are dynamic in nature, therefore we have added the new set of IP address.

But fundamentally it’s not a concrete solution, as we will face again. Thus I request everyone if you any of your customers have experience such kind of issue, kindly do share what action taken for resolution.

Note: All relevant ports, IP address for outbound as well inbound is open on the customer`s Firewall.

Regards,

Sumit

Completing a Cutover Migration

How do you replicate the behaviour of the now deprecated "Complete Migration" option? When deleting the cutover migration batch, does this then perform a final sync? Or does Office 365 detect when the MX records have been changed and perform a final sync after that occurs.

There is very little information on "Completing" the migration. It simply says the administrator does something and then it does a final sync. But  it doesnt explain when this final sync occurs.

Has anyone done a cutover migration that can let me know what they experienced?
