Hybrid Deployment Wizard Certificate Drop Down Blank

When I run the Hybrid Deployment Wizard the SSL Certificate dropdown is blank.  I've seen similar posts that relate to wildcard certificates however we are just using a normal SAN certificate from GoDaddy.  Its installed correctly as we are using it successfully with OWA, EAS, OA, etc.  We are running the latest SP and Update Rollup on our Exchange Server.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Absorbing an E3 Trial into an Enterprise Agreement

Hello, I have been working with a client who wants to build a proof of concept for Office 365, but we do not want to create it in such a way that it will be "throw away".  If the proof of concept works, we want to simply keep migrating users.  If someone didn't have an Enterprise Agreement they would simply keep adding licenses to their subscription.  EA licensing is completely different. What no one has been able to tell me with authority or documentation is this:  If we create an E3 trial subscription, can that be added/absorbed into an EA agreement should we choose to proceed.

Here is other information I have gathered about EA agreements and Office 365.  This is if you were to go the path of having the tenant provisioned through whoever handles your EA agreement. Please correct and/or validate the various points.

  • You must go directly to your EA contact to sign an amendment. This contract amendment will allow existing EA customers to incorporate the online terms to their existing EA.
  • You do not need a new EA agreement.
  • Creating a tenant through the normal trial process will not allow us to bring it into your existing EA agreement. (per MS licensing agent)
  • Microsoft could not even provide documentation about the steps to provision the tenant for EA customers because that the responsibility of the distributor.
  • The EA term continues to be three years. You can move your users to and from the online and on-premise offerings throughout the duration of your EA.
  • In my estimation it sounds like you will not pay for Office 365 until your EA agreement true up period.
  • You can migrate your users to the cloud at your own pace. No minimum quantity of Office 365 plans is required anytime during the EA enrollment term.
  • You can reduce your on-premise or Online Services quantity at anniversary if users are not part of the Qualified User or Device commitment.  Meaning if a was licensed for On-Prem exchange use, but they are now using Office 365, you only pay for Office 365.

Mobile Device Management (MDM) Options in Office 365

I've found from various customers I've worked with reporting that the functionality provided with ActiveSync in Office 365 isn't always enough to meet their business' security standards.  For example, with O365 ActiveSync you can't block jailbroken iPhones from accessing email.  There are quite a few MDM solutions out there that have a robust set of features.  There is however not a very much information provided by Microsoft about the options available and also, MDM solutions are fairly quiet about Office 365.

Has anyone ever implemented a 3rd party MDM solution with Office 365 that works?  Any suggestions for products to use?  Can Microsoft provide more information about how an MDM solution can access the Exchange Web services API in Office 365?

Here are a few links with some MDM information.  Microsoft’s documented stance on MDM is that you can extend the ActiveSync features using SCCM or Windows Intune, and 3rd party aps may work if they utilize the Exchange Web Services API, but aren't supported.

Thanks,

-Chris

Domain intent all say no

I have a client that was transitioned from BPOS. They have 3 domains on 365. They have been transitioned for a while but today, while they were having some issues, I took a look through the domains. I'm seeing all of them as having Exchange online as NO, Lync Online as NO, and sharepoint online as NO. However, they have been using all of these for a while (although they have had some issues that I've just put down to system issues, like today)

Also, as these are set to NO,  I can't check their DNS settings.

So my question is, do I need to change these, and what will I have to do with the DNS settings when I change them..

Thanks!

hi,

I'm just starting to use Office365 and Exchange Hybrid configuration. When running the Manage Hybrid Configuration Vizard on the on-premices Exchange 2010 Sp2 server I will end to this error. It looks trivial (Access is denied) but I can't see where the problem is. All the credentials work and I'm running the command as an Domain administator.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers Heimo

I'm working on a migration from a single 2007 server to a hybrid setup with one 2010 server for a school. I've build the 2010 box, DirSync and ADFS are working great. Going through the Hybrid setup wizard ends with the below error. I'm using a federated domain 365.schoolname.us, which is the UPN of all users. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

E-Mail Migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange Online

Hi

I am trying to migrate my clients mailboxes to Exchange Online.

I Go To - Admin Overview - Exchange, Manage - E-Mail Migration

Click on New, choose the first option, Exchange 2007 and later automatically detect.

I enter the correct info but it doesn't connect.

Outlook Web Access does work.

I suspect it is a DNS setting, as I don't see the static IP for the mail server resolving anywhere when I run the testexchangeconnectivity.com - Office365 - Outlook Autodiscover test. It Fails.

Any ideas where I can check?

Thanks

Michael

Hi,

I'm migrating POP users to Exchange Online. They are using Windows 7 & Outlook 2010. One users Exchange account is failing to add to his Outlook profile properly. His data file shows as being a private folder instead of an OST. Outlook fails to start with the following error:

Cannot open your default e-mail folders. An unexpected error has occurred.
Mapi was unable to load the information service EMSMdB.DLL
Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured

Suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Mark..

After the last automatic Windows and Office update outlook doesn't open and I get this message:

"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable to load the information service EMSMDB.DLL. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured.

I repaired Office but nothing happened. My Windows is 64x bit and I have an Office 365 Enterprise license (Office 365 Plus).

This is urgent.

We are using a Hybrid server with Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010 on it. In order to reduce the number of servers deployed locally, can the Active Directory Synchronization Tool be installed on the Hybrid Server during a migration? Thanks.

Hybrid Deployment/General Question

$

Good day all -

Sorry if this question has been answered before. Currently this is what I would like to accomplish. With Office 365, I would like to create "seperate email accounts" than our own "exchange email accounts". I would use these accounts in case of network failure/exchange failure to notify individuals outside of organization of the issues. I would like to use Office 365 due to the fact that it can use "our domain". Currently our MX records point to MXLogic and I do not want to change the current flow. However if someone was wanting to reply/send to/from acct@acme.com whereas acct@acme.com was not a regular exchange alias/account this would be received via office 365 - is this possible?

Thanks for your time.

Delete User account, keep specific user folders. How?

Hi there,

I have this easy question, for one of our clients. They are all using Office 365 E3. One of the employees is leaving the company and got some important e-mails and attachments (in created Folders) in her inbox.

What is the most efficient way to keep this folders and emails so 2 or 3 Board members are able to consult this folder and e-mails anytime.

This 3 board members are able to access shared mailboxes already, which they have in common. Anyone have some suggestions?

I am migrating 6 users from Yahoo Plus email to Office 365 using the Office 365 online imap migration tool. 5 have synced without problems, however the 6th has been stuck at 24,702 items synced for over 12 hours. How can I find out what is causing the freeze? This user has approx 42,000 items to sync. The other users have synced fine, some with over 10,000 items.

Exchange 2003 Hybrid Problems

$

Hello, we have a hybrid environment with Exchange 2003 and Office365 with an Exchange 2010 hybrid server involved.
We are not using ADFS. Everything seems to work fine in terms of mail flow autodiscover and so on.
We installed the Mailbox Role on the Hybrid Server to support sharing free busy with Office365.

Now we are facing some problems.
1.) We cannot utilize Suspendwhenreadytocomplete option when moving mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to Office365.
Can someone can confirm that this is by design. I read that this option is only available with Exchange 2007 mailboxes.
2.) If we cannot use this option what is the impact for the user when migrating his mailbox for the time it is migrated?
Is it still possible for the user to send and receive emails until the migration is finished. I read that this is a so called offline move when moving mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to Office365. What does that mean?
3.) We have migrated some test users over to Office365. When the mailbox got migrated the user restarts outlook and gets a credential prompt for outlook.com. That seems to work correct as the Exchange 2010 Hybrid should redirect to autodiscover.outlook.com. But after entering the cloud credentials another credential prompt comes up that wants to connect to the Exchange 2003 Server. Why does this happen? Is this by design in this scenario? I do not want to make a new outlook profile after migration cause this causes an ost resync.
