I am trying to migrate 6 users from Yahoo Plus email to Office 365 cloud Exchange. 5 of them have synced without a problem (including accounts with up to 10,000 emails to migrate) however one is currently stuck at 27,402 items synced and has been for almost 24 hours now. I am using the Office 365 e-mail migration page to do this. I have tried pausing and restarting the migration, with no effect. How can I get this to complete (there are 41,000+ items to sync in this account). I am currently under the trial period, (for three more days) but if I can't get this working, not sure that I want to move to Office 365.
IMAP migration stuck
Migrating half the users to a new forest and then migrating to Office 365
Our company is splitting into two different companies. Half the employees are moving to a new AD forest and the other half are staying locally with the existing on premise AD and Exchange Server 2010. We want to migrate the users to the new AD Forest and also migrate them to Office 365. The existing envrironment uses Outlook 2010, Exchange 2010 and has about 500GB of data in the Mailboxes that need migrating.
I see two or three potential methods of migration - please verify or correct as needed.
1. Do a cutover migration from the existing domain using the Microsoft supplied Migration Tool in the Office 365 Admin center - continue synchronizing data until the AD move is complete - after the users are moved to the new Forest/Domain have them point to their mailbox in Office 365 instead of a of the old local Exchange server.
Are there potential SID or GUID issues with this potential move.
1a. I also thought of using Migrationwiz for this scenario instead of the migration tool in the admin center.
2. In the new AD Forest, setup a new Exchange Server 2010 and migrate the Active Directory users and do a Cross Forest Email migration with the Exchange Servers. Then after all the users are migrated to the new Active Directory and new Exchange Server, then migrate them to Office 365 using a Hybrid server to make it a little easier on the users.
Thanks, any guidance is appreciated.
User can't connect
Hi,
One of the users in our organization, on a Mac, is trying to setup for Office365, using this guide:
http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/cc511390.aspx
He get's an error when trying to connect to the podxxxxx.outlook.com server (using the IMAP-settings) saying it can't connect. We have double checked all settings.
Hope you can help!
All migrated message are unread
LS,
we use the Cutover Exchange Migration.
When the batch has finsihed and all email messages are 'imported' in the office365 system, all email messages have status 'unread'.
But almost all email messages have status 'read' at the on-premise exchange server.
Is this normal behaviour or do we need to apply some setting?
Thanks,
Wilco
Email migration from Gmail POP3 to Office 365
I've been reading several articles about migrating from a Gmail POP3 account to Office 365.
I'm assuming I will have to use the Connected Accounts feature. I am a little confused as to how this will work.
All gmail users will have the same exact email address as before when we switch them over to Office 365. Once the DNS/MX record has been switched over to point to Office 365's servers will I still be able to use the Connected Accounts feature?
Any help would be appreciated.

I dont need to sync all old emails with web based outlook. only the new ones coming on new account which we set it up on office 365. but we need to use same rules and sub folders that we used to use since years, on both office 365 web outlook & the desktop outlook 2010.

cutover batch - all contact objects failed
I just kicked off a batch to migrate from onsite 2007 to 365. The batch picked up the 2000+ contacts we have in AD. All have failed with an error of:
Cannot process argument transformation on parameter 'CountryOrRegion'. Cannot convert value "000" to type "Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Directory.CountryInfo". Error: "The ISO-3166 2-letter country/region code or friendly name "000" does not represent a country/region. Parameter name: name" |
They all have valid SMTP addresses.
Looking at some of the contacts properties, under the Address and Phone tab, Country/region is blank, just like our mailbox users.
Office365 Hybrid Preset baditemlimit
Internal error
Sometimes we get the error 'An internal error has occurred, If this error occurs frequently, contact Microsoft Support.'.
When we then remove the batch and create a new batch this error has gone.
What can we do about this??

Can't create migration batch
I don't understand and I can't find anything related with a Google/Bing Search. Is there something I can do? The Exchange connectivity analyser (RPC/HTTP) does not find any error.

need to have an owner before trying to create the proxy
Hi I am performing a migration of mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Office 365 following the staged migration method.
The majority of mailboxes have migrated successfully however I have a small few that are reporting the following error:
"need to have an owner before trying to create the proxy"
How do I resolve the error?
I have ADFS and dirsync setup for SSO. Dirsync is not reporting any issues with the accounts in question and is actively syncing the accounts.

Aaron.
Migrating from gmail.com accounts to Exchange online
I am working for a small business and it is looking to migrate its gmail accounts to Exchange Online.
After having a good research of the instructions available, it seems that we'll have to use IMAP migration to keep all the labels/folders. However, one thing that I really could not find the answer for, is how to migrate from @gmail.com emails to the specific domain we are using in Exchange Online.
For example, migrating from abctuning@gmail.com email address to tuning@abc.com.
As in the CSV file, there are only 3 parameters: EmailAddress,UserName,Password; there isn't any else to specify destination email address.
I would sincerely appreciate any help.
sender show as email address
We have hybrid deployment. Mails flow well for on-premise and online.
Directory sync works fine in between.
Online users can choose users from GAL.
Online users send to external, cloud user and on-premise users, the [From] field shows correctly as display name, eg. Jone Lee.
But on-premise user send to cloud user, the cloud user sees email address instead of display name. Eg. JLee@domain.com
External user send to cloud user display ok and mails in between on-premises displays ok.
Mailboxes on premises are exchange 2007. AD is 2003. ADFS is in place. Hybrid server is exchange 2010.
Can anyone show me how to make the display name works?

Exchange cutover migration
Hi,
Today I started the exchange cutover migration via Outlook Online. However I wanted to migrate first the mail of my IT department but the exchange cutover migration toke all the mailaddresses.
I've now bought 11 licenses, so I want to migrate 11 mailboxes. I want to select the mailboxes that I want to migrate. Isn't this possible via exchange cutover migration?
I hope this is possible, because I don't want to migrate mailboxes manually via .CSV.
Thanks in advance,
Koray
Cutover migration or staged?
Hello,
I'm a little bit confused what to do, we currently have a 2008 DC and Exchange 2007 and we want to migrate to Office 365 with dirsync/ad fs.
Now I looked at the migration options and I think that cutover is the best way to migrate the mail but after I do the migration when will i need to setup the dirsync? And how will Office 365 connect the migrated cloud mailbox to the synced user or how can I say this mailbox belongs to this user? And will the username (which are now nothing like the e-mail adress, its like: XX3453) and password stay the same?
Or is it best to first setup dir sync and then do a staged migration? (Only when you do staged migration it says you have to setup a new password in the csv, but I want the users to keep the same password they have now on the DC).
Hopefully someone can help me with this.
