(LYNC) Polycom CX600 integration with Exchange Online UM
I need to know if the Polycom CX600 IP Phones are supported for Exchange Online UM integration features, namely Calendars and Call Logs.
Issue is currently we can't get the Calls Logs and Calendar to work on the phones, but the Lync client on the desktops are ok.
This is seen for most of the users, some users' phones are intermittently able to work.
Migration error "need to have an owner before trying to create the proxy"
I am trying to perform a mailbox migration. I have setup ADFS and dirsync. The accounts are synced and licensed. I am trying to migrate the mailboxes but the two accounts I have tried so far have both produced errors. The source email is SBS 2011. The migration wizard is asking for a CSV for the batches. I have tried 2 batches with 1 user in each (different users) and both produce the same error. The csv looks like this
EmailAddress,Password,ForceChangePassword
Ross.Board@domain.com,,False
I have raised this as a SR, but I thought I might get a quicker response on here.
Can the 30 day limit to recover a deleted mailbox be extended?
hi there,
is it possible to increase the 30 day limit that applies to recovering a deleted mailbox to say 90 days? (just as the limit for deleted items can be extended from 30 days to 90 days using PowerShell).
thanks, Richard.

Managed Folder Assistant not archiving OOO, meeting replies, message recalls, and read receipts
I am piloting Exchange Online Archiving with a hybrid deployment (Exchange 2010 SP2 RU5 v2), I have the archive running properly on two mailboxes with the out of the box "Default Archive and Retention Policy" applied. I have left everything unchanged, no personal tags are applied.
I see that it is properly archiving all mail older than two years as specified by the Retention policy with the exception of the following:
- Out of Office messages
- Read Receipts/Undeliverable reports
- Message Recalls
- Meeting Requests/Canceled/Updated/Accepted emails
I have tried Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -Identity <mailbox> -Verbose, and it runs through fine with no issues. I also do not see any errors in the event log.
Is this expected behavior, or should the ManagedFolderAssistant be moving these items to the archive?
Thanks,
Carlos
Migrating of mailboxes from on-prem to O365 using EWS
Hi,
I'm trying to understand the traffic flow when moving mailboxes from on-prem to O365 in hybridg mode using EWS. Does O365 connect back to the my on-prem Exchange server using port 443 and "pull" the mailboxes?
Thanks,
Blanco

Moving Dmain & importing emails from Google apps for Education
I already have my Office 365 set up with the default domain wlmcs.onmicrosoft.com
We currently have our domain wlmcs.*** set up on Google Apps for Ed where all our staff have their emails. The majority access via web only. Before I move my domain over, I have to get my email messages off of Google. I can see how to do that but the question is where do I send them if my domain is not set up.
Question: if I set up accounts on wlmcs.onmicrosoft.com for their email to be imported into. When I move my domain, will I able to switch the domain name on the current office 365 do I have to again make another set of accounts with my domain name?
Extra Info:
I haven't put any accounts but mine in Office 265 yet. I want to run office 365 stand alone (not directory services integrated). I am not using an exchange server and want to keep everything cloud based.
Did I post this in the right place, lol?
Email migration
Hi
Just starting with O365 and a new company we have formed. Our emails were ?????@????.onmicrosoft.com and we are looking to migrate over to our domain name. The conversion process is fairly straightforward and I can understand what to do, the question I have is what happens to the onmicrosoft.com email after migration. The problem is we are in discussions with someone re-investing and he is sending us stuff via onmicrosoft email. Does the email die with the migration or will it automatically route to the new domain name one? At this stage dont want to say we are changing email addresses again (from our original contact). Any help gratefully received.
Unwanted Read Receipts
Hi,
I am new to Office 365 having been migrated by BT in the UK last week.
Following migration, I am experiencing a problem with read receipts which has become a "hot potato" with BT support.
When a new email [for which the sender has requested a read receipt] is received at the OWA it remains in an "unread" state until my local Client [Outlook 2007] polls the server and retrieves the email to the local machine at which point the OWA state changes to read and the sender receives a read receipt from the OWA. I must stress that the email has not been opened and read on either the OWA or the local Client. In both situations, the setting is marked to "never send a read receipt".
Has anyone else experienced this weired phenomenon?
Any suggestion would be gratefully received.
Hybrid IIS Error 500 accessing F+B wssecurity (EWS)
Hi,
i am encountering errors while trying to retrieve Free/Busy info from a on prem user accessed by a office365 user.
- Onboarding/Offboarding is working flawless
- Message flow is working flawless
- dirsync is just fine
- ADFS is also working
In OWA Office 365 i get error 5016 when accessing free/busy info of on premise accounts.
TMG says error IIS Returns error 500, so there shouldnt be a Proxy authentication Problem. I have exception rules for wssecurity directories. The error 500 comes directly from IIS on the CAS.
Here are entries from the EWS Log on CAS:
2013-01-31T16:54:51.091Z,,False,,,ASProxy/CrossForest/Directory/https/14.16.0263.000,[IPADDRESS],[HOSTNAME],,500,,,[SOME IDENTIFIER],,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,62,,,
Setting up Hybrid configuration without TMG
We are having some trouble setting up Exchange Hybrid configuration. We have a UAG, but because of pre-auth this can't be used as far as I understand.
I found this post where NEO ZHU from MSFT support says that a TMG is not required and it can be done simply by forwarding ports 443 and 25 to the exchange server. Has anyone tried setting this up, either this way or other ways without using TMG?
Move mailbox on-premises keep archive mailbox in cloud
Some on-premises people can email my cloud account others cant
I have a mail enabled user , A "mail user" in Exchange, who started life as having a mailbox on our Exchange 2007 server. After migration I ran the script they say to run to convert a user to a mail enabled user, and the script errored, and has made life a living hell.
Some people from within the company can email this account, but others get an undeliverable.
How do I fix this? Should I call phone support?
Very confused about hybrid configuration for archiving only
I stepped through all the documentation for deploying for online archiving only. Although I have an error i am still working on things are almost complete.
what I don't understand and does not seem to be clearly identified in the documentation is how the archiving will actually be accomplished
Do I need to create an online mailbox for each of my users and they set the archiving options in outlook?
Or do i need to enable archiving on there onpremise mailbox and point to the online? Which would seem to require me to add exchange enterprise CAL's?
Or something completely different then above?
Thanks in advance.
Migrating account from on-premise hybrid with a forward setting?
We just tried migrating an account from our on-premise exchange 2010 sp2 to office 365. The account migrated with no problems, but this account had a forward setting in the mail-flow settings. The forward was gone when the account completed migrating to office 365 exchange online.
Is there any way to keep the forward setting on the account when the mail box is migrated from on-premise to exchange online?
I have a few hundred account i need to migrate, each account has a hard forward set. It will be a nightmare to need to manually set each after migration.
Are mailboxes migrated to Exchange Online retained as Disconnected Mailboxes?
Setup Office 365 with same name that needs migrating from Exchange 2003
Ok...messed up and set up Office 365 with the same name that I need to migrate from an 2003 Exchange. Have since changed the name slighty but how do I Re-migrate just a single address from the 03 Exchange?
